. they call me RAVENPAW!
Name:
-- Ravenpaw.
Age:
-- Seven moons.
Gender:
-- Tom.
Rank:
-- Medicine cat apprentice.
Clan:
-- Shadowclan.All I can say, is that this boy is still the same,
It's the man inside that's changed.
Short Appearance:
-- A young tom of medium build, with a dark pelt decorated with white, and amber eyes..
Detailed Appearance:
-- ::Pelt::
Ravenpaw has complex coloring. For the majority his pelt is dark. The fur takes on a shade of black, though decorated with splotches of gray and brindle. Now there are some exceptions to his dark coat. For example, the white that decorates his chest, muzzle, and front paws. One of his front legs is decorated to the fullest extent, with an assortment of colors. Brindle, black, and white stripes run horizontally around his leg. His coat is quite long and very thick, which is helpful come leaf-bare.
::Eyes::
Ravenpaw has piercing amber eyes. They are big, and alluring. His eyes are emotional, even though he is not. While he may hide behind himself, his eyes seem to show whatever emotions he is feeling. They are a solid color, with no changes. Just amber. Simplistic, yet complex.
::Build::
Ravenpaw is of average build. He is the normal size a cat of his age and gender should be. He is neither unusually small, or extraordinarily big. His structure is average, his build is average. The only abnormal thing about his structure is his seemingly long tail. His tail is longer than the average cats. Other than that, his build is just like every other.
Personality:
-- Ravenpaw is a most peculiar of characters. Most could describe him in a few very short words. Words such as distant and solitary. This is the truth, for he does seem to prefer the company of the forest rather than the company of his fellow cats. This does not make him cold. No, in fact, he is a kind cat with a warm heart. His loyalty cannot be mistaken, whether it be for his clan or a specific cat. Ravenpaw is extremely timid. This explains his reputation as a solitary and distant apprentice. In truth, he is simply timid, and tends to shy away from contact with other cats. Particularly because of his awkward nature. He is soft spoken, and empathetic. Now it is a difficult task to get close to the cat. Perhaps because of his shy nature. The truth is, once he makes a friend he will not lose that friend. If you can catch little Ravenpaw, he's yours, and he'll be sure of it.
Once he's close to another cat, his loyalty becomes completely obvious. He would die for those he cares about. Now, sure he's shy but that doesn't mean he's cowardly. Sure Ravenpaw has to muster up a bit more courage than other cats before leaping into battle, but he still leaps. Besides, bravery isn't simply leaping into battle without a thought or fear. No, bravery is feeling that fear, but leaping anyways. This is the perfect definition of Ravenpaw. A distant, timid, soft spoken, thoughtful, empathetic, understanding, and loyal young tom.
History:
-- ::Kit-Hood::
"Mama, mama can I go out? Please? Please?" A little kit asked anxiously, as he looked up to his mother, who was purring in amusement. It was sun high within the camp of WindClan, and this little kit, unlike others, was not curious about the surroundings. He didn't want to leave the nursery to chase butterflies and little bugs. No, he wanted to visit his favorite cat in the entire clan. The medicine cat was his favorite cat. Their ways intrigued him, even as a kit. Even at such an immature age he was intrigued by something bigger than simple bugs. He was intrigued by herbs. He was intrigued by healing. He was so interested in how easily the medicine cat could read the stars. How connected the medicine cat was with his or her surroundings. This little kit wasn't going out to chase bugs. He was going out to follow a medicine cat around.
"I don't see a problem with it, just as long as you stay in the camp," his mother replied kindly. In an instant the little kit trotted out of the nursery and straight to wards the medicine cat den. He was excited. He loved to learn about new herbs, he loved to be around such an important job. The clan wouldn't be able to function without the Medicine Cat. The little kit ran into the den without a second thought. He skidded to a halt in front of the brambles which made up the den. The medicine cat looked to him immediately, a light smile painted the cats muzzle.
"Why hello there RavenKit," the cat stated. Ravenkit prodded the ground with the his paws anxiously.
"What brings you to my den?" The cat asked, as it turned to face the back of the den, where the medicine cat was organizing herbs.
"I was just wondering, well, what are you doing?" Ravenkit asked curiously. The medicine cat looked back to wards the kit, purring in amusement.
"Just looking through my herbs. Why don't you come over here and help me?" The medicine cat asked. Ravenkit jumped up and trotted over beside the medicine cat. He looked upon all the herbs. He couldn't tell the difference between any of them, and yet, they were all so interesting. Each one had a different use, to better the clan in one way or the other.
"What's that one?" Ravenkit asked curiously, while gazing upon a pile of herbs. The medicine cat looked to Ravenkit, then back to the herbs. The cat pushed the pile away from the brambles and to wards the kit.
"Poppyseed. It's given to cats to soothe them, and help them sleep. If a cat is in shock, or distressed, this can be used, unless said cat is a nursing queen," the medicine cat stated.
"Oh," Ravenkit stated, while pushing the herbs back into the brambles. His yellow gaze then focused on a different pile of herbs. "What about that one?" The kit asked curiously, while looking up to medicine cat with big eyes.
"You'll know soon enough. I think it's time you went back to your mother," the medicine cat stated, while lightly pushing the kit out the den with a soft nose. Reluctantly RavenKit left the den, and trotted back to the nursery. He was running different scenarios through his mind, scenarios in which one would need to use poppyseed.
::Apprentice::
The day had started like any other day. Completely average. Though, for little Ravenpaw it would end on a higher note. He had been an apprentice for exactly two sunrises. His mentor had taken him out on a border patrol the first day of apprenticeship. It was intriguing for Ravenpaw, to see all the sights about their territory. To run along the moor, and see exactly how far their territory stretched. They did have quite the stretch of land. It was a home to be proud of. Though, Ravenpaw wasn't completely satisfied as a normal apprentice. No, he wanted more, he wanted his dreams. He wanted to be an apprentice to the medicine cat of their clan. Though, it's not as if he had much choice in the matter. Whoever is the medicine cat apprentice is decided between the medicine cat, the leader, and of course StarClan. It was just before dawn, and Ravenpaw was still sound asleep in his den, curled up in moss.
"Ravenpaw, come here," the medicine cat hissed under their breath. Ravenpaw slowly awoke due to the quick voice of the medicine cat. The apprentice stretched out his legs, and trotted over to the entry of the apprentice den. He ducked, as he left the brambles and heather which he called home.
"It's so early," he complained through a yawn.
"I know, but I have something I want to talk to you about. Follow me," the medicine cat stated, before running off into the forest. Taken by surprise, Ravenpaw jumped to his feet and followed after the speeding cat, until he found the cat, sitting by the edge of the stream, looking at a plant of some sort. "I was right here, collecting water mint, when I saw it. The sign that led me to my choice. A raven, perched on that tree branch there, almost a fox length away from my nose. It didn't move once. Ravenpaw, I want you to be my apprentice," the medicine cat stated. Ravenpaw was speechless. He simply stood there, and after he organized the thoughts in his head, a few words finally escaped his muzzle.
"I'd love to be your apprentice.."If I don't return from this life of a soldier,
Don't you be crying for me.
